Did you know that a critical element of a briefing professional’s role is negotiation? In a recent review of the ABPM curriculum a skills gap was identified based on the finding: “every day briefing professionals are negotiating”. In fact, briefing professionals can’t be effective at their job if they are not skilled negotiators. Think about it!
Daily you find yourself dealing with services such as catering, transportation, and accommodations for briefing center guests. Keeping your center in a high state of readiness involves negotiating Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) and coordinating with a group of employees and vendors to provide systems readiness, maintenance, cleaning, AV updates and to ensure that all the signage and demonstrations are ready for “show-time”.
The briefing center is a strategic asset that must be carefully managed to achieve the briefing program’s metrics of success. Most days you are negotiating with discussion leaders why they need to follow the planning process and submit their presentation materials before the briefing, to account managers that they need to book and confirm briefings in advance so that there is time for the briefing to be customized and carefully orchestrated for the customer or prospect and to someone that the center is not for hosting internal meetings.
Business cases are written to provide funding for resources, enhancements and improvements to the briefing program. To make the case the briefing team needs to present and negotiate with executives and other stakeholders to get business cases funded.

The price for the virtual workshop registration is $349 for members and $495 for non-members (briefing professionals or Supplier Members only - vendors must be recommended Supplier Members to attend ABPM events). ABPM accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Check, or Wire Transfer.
Payment, Discount, and Cancellation Policy
Registration fees must be paid prior to Friday, November 1, 2019. You are registered at the time you receive a conference confirmation email from ABPM. Due to requirements for instructor preparation, we are unable to issue refunds/credits or void outstanding invoices for cancellations received after Friday, October 25, 2019.
