Who we are: | Local Projects is a multi-disciplinary design studio with over two decades of experience in culture, educational, and corporate experience center, innovation center, and collaboration tool design. We are best known for work that drives emotional engagement for a broad range of audiences. Located in NYC, we collaborate with a wide range of clients regionally and internationally, utilizing our unique capabilities and creative process to produce world-class projects in the field of exhibition design, experience design, and media. As a studio, we often develop bold and dynamic new ways to tell complex stories, to humanize history, and to facilitate deeper understanding for visitors. This has led us to create many truthful and impactful experiences about civil rights, human rights, and social justice. From our work on Greenwood Rising Black Wall St History Center with 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre Centennial Commission to The Legacy Museum with the Equal Justice Initiative to the inaugural exhibit of the Louisiana Civil Rights Museum, we have used our unique, interdisciplinary approach to tell important and difficult stories in meaningful new ways, blending scholarship and emotion. Currently, we are designing new exhibits for the United Nations in Geneva as well as the Urban Civil Rights Museum with the National Urban League, a new institution in New York City which will explore topics like the Great Migration, the Harlem Renaissance, and the ongoing struggle for equity in our cities and communities. |
