We are looking forward to seeing each of you next week! Below you will find all the information you need for a great ABPM Spring Conference experience.

Please download the MyABPM App designed and provided by ABPM Supplier Member CXApp by Design Reactor via iTunes or GooglePlay prior to arriving at the conference. If you already have the app on your phone, make sure you've updated; there are new features you'll love (see linked article). MyABPM will allow you to stay connected with up-to-the-minute information for every day of the event with useful and collaborative features like: 
  • A detailed agenda outlining key event touch points for each hour of every day (Build Your Own Agenda within the app!)
  • Advanced Agenda search functionality now available, also allowing for search by conference track.
  • An Activity Stream where you can collaborate and share your event experience in real time through in-app posts and social media integrations.
  • An attendees list with photos and email capability
  • A list of recommended shopping, dining, and entertainment that are in the area around the Capital Hilton
If you are new to the MyABPM app, your login credentials are:

If you do not have a device that runs on iOS or Android, you can still
 download a final agenda via this link in pdf format for your use at the conference.
 
Conference check-in will be 10:00 a.m.– 2:00 p.m. on Monday April 15th on the Capital Terrace on the 2nd Floor at the Capital Hilton. If you miss the conference check-in, feel free to join us for the opening general session in Congressional/Senate. There will be an ABPM table with the remainder of attendee badges outside of the Presidential Ballroom during the Supplier Celebration that follows the general session from 5:00 -7:30 pm.
 
As we near the event, there are a few items we need to tie up so that we take care of you to the best of our abilities during the conference.
  • Attendees Roster:  A copy of the current attendee roster minus those who don't wish to have their information shared was attached to the email with this link. You can also find a list of attendees in your MyABPM app. After the conference, we will send a final attendees list (with last minute additions and cancellations), with the email asking for your conference feedback and other follow-up details.
  • Newcomers Orientation: If you’re a first-time attendee, please plan to attend the Newcomer’s orientation sponsored by Derse starting at 1pm on Monday, April 15th in the Federal AB Room, 2nd Floor. During the orientation, you'll meet your fellow newcomers, ABPM Advisory Board Members, and you'll learn how to best navigate the conference.
  • Tour Day: Your Tour Day bus assignment can be found on the spreadsheet attached to the email. The Tour Day schedule is here. You will have a number on your conference badge indicating your bus assignment. See the conference app or the agenda for departure location and times for each bus. Also, please note the breakfast and departure times are staggered (consult your agenda or the tour day schedule).
  • Area Dining & Shopping: Tuesday is a free night. To help you plan your evening, you can find a list and map of area shopping and dining via your MyABPM App.
  • Primary Conference Location: The Capital Hilton, located at 1001 16th St NW, Washington, DC 20036, is the primary location of the 2019 ABPM Spring Conference.
  • Transportation & Parking:  The Capital Hilton is approximately 4 miles and a 20-25 minute drive from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. Valet parking at the hotel is $60 per night and $75 for oversized vehicles. Alternatively, there is a Park America parking lot at 1301 K St NW offering approximately $30 per night parking.
  • Dress: Dress throughout the entire conference is business casual with the exception of Wednesday evening’s Gala Dinner.  Dress for Wednesday evening is cocktail. During the conference, we recommend you dress in layers for sessions as hotel meeting room temperatures can vary greatly
  • Sessions: Attendees do not sign up for Tuesday breakout sessions; they are first come, first served. To ensure you get to attend the sessions you wish, we suggest you review the agenda prior to arrival to plan your own schedule and arrive at each session in plenty of time to find a seat. If three or more sessions that you wish to attend are scheduled in the same time slot don't worry! Following the conference, a link to downloadable session presentations (if provided by presenter) will be provided. Presenters are also generally happy to speak with you about their topics during breaks or meals. Attending with a team member? We suggest you divide and conquer.
  • And on a related note... don't forget about the New Breakout Session Format: Because of your feedback, session formats are evolving this year! With so many great breakout session topics in each time slot, we often hear from conference participants that it’s difficult to choose which one to attend. To give you a chance to get even more out of the conference, we are introducing a “Flash” session for each breakout. The sessions will be divided into 2 segments: the first 60 minutes will be the Primary session for content and collaboration followed by 10 minutes to switch rooms, and then a second 20 minute “flash” session.

    • Primary Session:  The first 60 minutes will be a conversation between session leaders and the participants. Session leaders will provide a short presentation to set the context and share their knowledge on the topic. This will get the conversation going and the session leader will facilitate a conversation among participants for the remainder of the 60 minutes. This approach uses as its model the increasingly collaborative formats we are seeing in today’s briefing programs.

    • Flash Session:  After the first 60 minutes, session leaders will remain in their rooms while conference participants have 10 minutes to move to another breakout room for a “flash session” on any of the other sessions offered during that time slot. In this 20 minute segment, session leaders will provide high-level talking points as well as relevant points from the collaborative portion of the 60-minute segment
